Give It Up Or Get Out!

This past week I was reminded how fortunate I truly was to grow up in a Christian home with wonderful parents who love the Lord. Recently my wife wrote a blog about a young lady named Franceline who accepted Christ as her Savior in our home. I realize it has only been a couple of weeks, but I’m thrilled with her spirit of wanting to grow. She is so excited about Christ and has been so faithful. However, we have encountered a problem. Her mother is Muslim, and although Muslims in Burkina are not generally violent, they are opposed to what we are doing. Sunday morning before she left for church, her mother gave her an ultimatum. She either has to leave the church or leave her home.

As I talked with her Sunday evening after the prayer service, it was obvious that she is discouraged and scared. We are hoping her mother said these things out of frustration and that she is not serious. Please pray with us that the situation can be resolved. Pray that our attitudes and behavior will be such that it can bring honor to our Lord. Who knows, maybe God will use this as a door where we can see her mother accept Christ as her personal Savior.
